Timeless Classic: “Power Flower” by Stevie Wonder

One of my favorite cuts from Stevie’s double-album “Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants” (1979). Something powerful, primordial & unworded takes hold within every time I hear this song. This video has a few lyrical errors, but still doesn’t take away from the beauty of the piece. The corrected line is:

Fancy I fell, not “feel” – there is a subtle change of meaning in the broader context of the song. The Flower Power was a slogan back in the 60’s/70’s symbolizing peaceful resistance to the hatred & warmongering which is still with us – the nature of the Beast, I guess.
