One of the best conscious Hip Hop groups  is Dead Prez. Their message is clear, politically charged & powerfully expressed. Their penchant is reporting on what is happening on the dark side of a society haunted by the lost, contorted souls. They not only paint a nightmarish picture overhanging darkly across the American landscape, but  also offer strokes of wisdom like healthy living, conscious love and giving respect to the Earth. I wish more of our young ones tuned into their message of self-discipline, honor, love & respect. In “Don’t Forget Where U Goin” they rap:

“Ghetto children you’re the spark, you’re the energy, you’re the heart

To the granma’s, you’re the glue ’cause you know things fall apart”

Now isn’t this better than most of the garbage in rotation today? Folks are thirstin’ for this revolutionary flow….
